Jehovah’s Witnesses: Is it true that there is only one day out of that year that you cannot eat turkey on?
The holiday of Thanksgiving has no offensive demonic or pagan roots before Jehovah God. It is up to us whether we copy or follow this worldly practices like blind mice or not. Why do you think we should eat turkey on this day just because many are doing so. We do not follow men or popular practices just because. We think for ourselves. I can eat turkey any day I want, not when it is expected. We are no part of this world. To my knowledge, in the US, only Thanksgiving and the 4th of July do not have any offensive or demonic pagan origins. Overall, we simply do not celebrate these holidays so as not to stumble onlookers, so as not to add to the controversy over celebrating holidays. If you see that we do not celebrate any holiday then that makes it more clear over the issues of holiday celebrations. We prefer not to celebrate any. We seek to please God not man. (Act 5:29) I personally enjoy poultry, including turkey. :) We do celebrate Christ's death for faithful mankind, which is commanded (1Corinthians 11:25, 26) We also celebrate and commemorate aniversaries, graduations, and other pivital momments in life. Overall, we will celebrate after Armageddon, when Jehovah's name will have been sanctified throughout the earth.
