For a triangle, if you have the opposite and the angle and you have to find the adjacent, what do you use?

do you use sin, cos, or tan? im really confused about this. for example, in my homework, ive been given the angle which is 30 degrees and the opposite which is 75. however i have not been given the hypotenuse. but i have to find the adjacent. so when do i know what to use?
